Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about Fuscia’s pay monthly websites, managed hosting, AI call handling and enquiry systems for UK service businesses. If you cannot find what you are looking for, contact us and we will come back to you the same business day.

Pricing & Commercial Terms

How much does a small business website cost in the UK?

You are not paying for pages. You are investing in infrastructure that generates and handles enquiries.

A professionally built small business website in the UK typically costs between £2,000 and £8,000 or more upfront – and that is before hosting, maintenance and ongoing support are factored in.

Fuscia operates on a pay monthly website subscription model, with packages starting from:

  • Launch — £169 per month, no setup fee
  • Accelerate — £269 per month + £199 setup
  • Capture — £449 per month + £399 setup

All packages include managed hosting, security, software and plugin updates, and ongoing support. There is no large upfront capital outlay. You get professional managed infrastructure from day one.

Is there a setup fee?

It depends on the package.

The Launch tier has no setup fee. Accelerate includes a one-off £199 setup fee. Capture includes a one-off £399 setup fee.
Setup fees reflect the additional build and configuration work at each tier – advanced conversion structure, automation setup, pipeline configuration and performance tracking. They are not arbitrary charges. Everything is itemised clearly on our packages page.

Is a pay monthly website cheaper than paying upfront?

Over 12 to 24 months, total investment can be comparable. The difference is what is included and what is not.

An upfront build requires significant initial capital, plus separate arrangements for hosting, maintenance and ongoing support. Fuscia’s small business website subscription includes all of that as standard – and the system improves with every month of data and refinement.

The real question is not which costs less. It is which model gives you the best return on your time and money over 12 months.

Is there a minimum contract?

Yes. All Fuscia packages have a 12-month minimum term, billed monthly.

After 12 months, your plan continues on a rolling monthly basis unless you choose to cancel. This gives sufficient time to build the site properly, optimise it, and generate measurable return. Websites do not perform at their best on day one – the system improves with every month of data, refinement and performance review.

What happens if I cancel?

After the 12-month minimum, there are no exit penalties. Simply provide notice and your subscription ends.

Hosting and infrastructure access ends and the site is taken offline. Your domain remains yours if it is registered in your name.

Fuscia retains ownership of the build framework and infrastructure stack. This allows us to maintain consistent security, optimisation and performance standards across all client sites. We can provide a full WordPress export of your website files, giving you everything needed to migrate your website to another provider.

Our model is designed for long-term partnerships, not short-term contracts. Most clients stay because the system continues to deliver value.

Are there any hidden costs?

No. Your monthly fee includes hosting, SSL, security monitoring, software updates, plugin updates, maintenance and core SEO setup. Reporting is included at the level appropriate to your package.

Any optional services are discussed and quoted before anything is added. There are no surprises.

Do you offer a money-back guarantee?

Yes. The Launch package includes a 30-Day Peace of Mind Guarantee.

If within the first 30 days you feel Fuscia is not the right fit, we will refund your first month – no hard feelings.
This guarantee applies to the Launch tier only. Full details are on our packages page.

Why do you operate on a subscription model instead of selling websites outright?

Because results require more than a launch.

Most websites fail not because they were built badly, but because nothing happened after they went live. No maintenance. No optimisation. No accountability. Our subscription model exists because a website that is not actively managed stops performing – and a website that stops performing costs your business money every single month it sits there quietly.

The subscription model means:

Results are optimised beyond launch day, not abandoned after it
Security, updates and performance are managed continuously
Conversion improvements compound over time
Your cashflow is protected and upfront capital risk is removed
Our success is directly tied to your long-term performance

Our success depends on your site continuing to perform – which is why ongoing optimisation is built into everything we do.

That said, if full ownership and transferability from day one is your priority, we also offer bespoke upfront builds on a selective basis.

What industries do you work with?

Fuscia works with trades businesses, installers, professional services and local service businesses across the UK.

That includes plumbers, electricians, heating engineers, builders, landscapers, cleaners, therapists, consultants and any service business that generates revenue through enquiries rather than online retail.

We do not work with ecommerce businesses or retail. Our system is built specifically for businesses that need to attract, capture and convert service enquiries – not product transactions.

If you are unsure whether Fuscia is the right fit, book a free enquiry system review and we will give you an honest answer.

Website Build & Process

How long does it take to launch my website?

Launch tier websites are typically delivered within 14 days of receiving your completed onboarding information.

Accelerate and Capture take longer because they include more pages, enhanced conversion structure, advanced forms, automation configuration and performance tracking setup. Higher tiers involve additional conversion engineering and deeper configuration – and that work takes time to do properly.

Typical timeframes:

Accelerate = 14 – 21 days
Capture = up to 28 days

How quickly will I be up and running?

From the moment your payment is confirmed, your build slot is reserved. You will receive your onboarding form within one business day. Most clients complete it in under 20 minutes.

Once the form is submitted, we confirm your go-live target within one business day and the build begins. No calls required before we start.

Most Launch clients are live within two weeks of starting the process. Accelerate and Capture clients are typically live within three to four weeks.

What happens after my website goes live?

The relationship starts at launch – it does not end there.

Once your site is live, you benefit from ongoing managed hosting, security monitoring, software and plugin updates, and regular backups as part of your monthly subscription. Your edit allowance is available from day one. Performance is reviewed at regular intervals with specific recommendations.

This is what managed website infrastructure means. You are not handed a login and left to get on with it. We remain accountable for the performance of your site every month it is live.

What do you need from me to get started?

Very little. You complete a short onboarding form covering your business details, services, locations, branding preferences and contact information. Most clients complete it in under 20 minutes.

We then handle all technical setup and build from there. No calls required before we begin, and no technical knowledge needed on your part.

Do I need to be technical to work with Fuscia?

Not at all. If you can fill in a form, you can onboard with Fuscia.

You provide the business information. We handle everything technical – hosting configuration, build, optimisation, security and ongoing maintenance. Most clients have no involvement in the technical process beyond reviewing and approving the finished site before it goes live.

How many edits am I allowed each month?

Each tier includes a monthly edit allowance:

Launch – 30 minutes per month
Accelerate – 60 minutes per month
Capture – 90 minutes per month

Allowances are non-rolling. Unused time does not carry forward to the following month. Any requests outside the allowance are quoted and agreed before work begins.

In practice, most clients use a fraction of their monthly allowance. The majority of changes take minutes, not hours.

To submit a change request, use our change request form.

What platform are the websites built on?

Every website we build runs on WordPress – the platform that powers more professional business websites than any other in the world.

Unlike closed DIY platforms such as Wix, Squarespace or IONOS website builders, WordPress gives your business long-term scalability without platform lock-in, template restrictions or increasing platform fees. You are not renting space inside someone else’s ecosystem. You are building on an open, globally supported framework that gives your site strong SEO foundations, advanced integration capability and the flexibility to grow without starting again.

Is hosting included?

Yes. All packages include fully managed website hosting with SSL security, server optimisation, software updates, plugin updates, regular backups and ongoing maintenance. No separate hosting contract required. No technical management needed on your part.

Can I update the website myself?

Yes. You can submit change requests within your monthly allowance using our change request form. Most clients prefer hands-off management – they tell us what they need and we handle it, so they can focus on running their business.

Can I add more pages or services later?

Yes. You can upgrade your tier, add service pages, add landing pages, add automation or add AI call handling at any point.

The system is built to scale with your business, not to lock you into a fixed structure from day one.

Can I see examples of your work?

We are currently in the early stages of building our client portfolio and case studies will be published as clients go live and results are established.

In the meantime, the most useful thing we can offer is a free, no-obligation enquiry system review. In 20 to 25 minutes we will assess your current digital setup, identify where enquiries are being lost, and give you a clear recommendation – whether that leads to Fuscia or not.

AI Call Handling

What is AI call handling and how does it work?

Every call your business receives gets answered – even when you cannot answer it.

Our AI call handling system speaks naturally, qualifies enquiries, captures caller details and triggers follow-up automatically. It answers 24 hours a day, sends missed call text-backs, books appointments where configured, and ensures no opportunity is lost because a phone went unanswered.

For many service businesses, missed calls are missed revenue. AI call handling for small business closes that gap without adding headcount or cost.

Find out more on our AI call handling page.

How much call handling is included?

The system includes up to 12 hours – 720 minutes – of call handling per month. For context, that equates to roughly 200 to 250 calls, which is significantly more than most local service businesses receive in a typical month, even accounting for short or repeat enquiries.

Usage is monitored by Fuscia. If you are approaching your limit, we will discuss options before it becomes an issue. There are no surprise overage charges.

Is AI call handling better than a human receptionist?

For most small service businesses, AI call handling does not replace a receptionist – it replaces a missed call.

A full-time receptionist typically costs well over £2,000 per month. AI call handling works around the clock, has no sick days, no holiday cover requirements, and captures every call consistently – even when you are on-site, driving or with a client.
Many businesses use it alongside their existing team rather than instead of them. The financial case is straightforward: in most trades, a single additional job per month covers the investment many times over.

What happens if call volume exceeds the monthly allowance?

We monitor usage and will discuss upgrade options before limits are reached. Most trades and service businesses operate comfortably within the included allowance throughout the month without any intervention needed.

Leads, Reporting & Results

How many enquiries should my website generate?

This depends on your industry, location, competition and the volume of people already searching for what you offer. There is no honest universal answer.

What we can say is that in many service industries, a single average-value job per month can exceed the cost of the subscription. The system is built to convert the demand that exists – not to manufacture demand where none does.

If you want to understand what your current setup is leaving on the table, book a free enquiry system review.

What if my website does not generate enquiries?

Websites convert demand — they do not create it in isolation. A well-built website turns visitors into enquiries. It cannot generate traffic where none exists.

We focus on clear calls-to-action, conversion-focused layouts, fast load speed, structured forms and follow-up systems. Performance is reviewed at regular intervals with specific, actionable recommendations.

If something is not working, we will tell you — and we will tell you what to do about it.
If you want to actively increase traffic as well as convert it, our optional Growth services are available exclusively to Fuscia clients.

Can I see performance reports?

Yes.

Launch clients receive a quarterly performance summary covering key metrics and recommendations.

Accelerate and Capture clients receive ongoing performance visibility with structured reporting throughout the year.
We do not hide behind vanity metrics. You will see the numbers that matter – enquiry volume, conversion performance and where your traffic is coming from.

Will my website rank on Google?

All Fuscia websites are built with strong SEO foundations including structured page hierarchy, meta optimisation, mobile responsiveness, fast load performance and technical compliance. For many service businesses, this is enough to begin generating organic visibility and consistent enquiries as the site builds authority over time.

If you want to accelerate results or increase traffic beyond organic performance, our optional Growth services include Local SEO campaigns and Paid Campaign Management – available exclusively to Fuscia clients.

Ownership & Infrastructure

Do I own my domain name?

Yes – provided it is registered in your name. We strongly recommend that domain ownership always sits with the business owner. If you do not yet have a domain, we can research and register one for you as part of your setup.

Who owns the website?

You own your domain (if registered in your name) and all of your content. Fuscia retains ownership of the build framework, hosting configuration and infrastructure stack. This structure allows us to maintain consistent security, optimisation and managed website performance standards across all client sites.

If full transfer ownership from day one is a priority, our bespoke build service may be more suitable.

Comparisons

What makes Fuscia different from other pay monthly website providers in the UK?

Most pay monthly website providers in the UK hand you a template and a login. Fuscia builds a managed enquiry system and stays accountable for its performance every month.

The differences are structural:

Built on WordPress – not a proprietary template platform
Transparent pricing with no hidden costs
Defined monthly edit allowance by tier
Performance reporting included as standard
Optional AI call handling integration
Optional Growth services for clients ready to scale
30-Day Peace of Mind Guarantee on the Launch tier

We do not build pages and disappear. We build infrastructure that attracts, captures and converts enquiries – and we remain accountable for its performance month after month.

See exactly what is included

Why not just use an AI website builder and do it myself?

AI website builders have come a long way. For a business that needs something basic online quickly, they can produce a reasonable result in a short time. We have no interest in dismissing them.

But here is what they do not do.

They do not configure your hosting for performance and security. They do not set up your enquiry capture, automated follow-up or call handling. They do not optimise your conversion structure or review your performance quarterly. They do not maintain your plugins, monitor your uptime or update your content as your business changes. And when something breaks at 11pm on a Tuesday, they do not answer.

What an AI builder produces is a page. What Fuscia builds is a system – one that attracts enquiries, captures them, follows them up automatically, and is actively managed every month by someone accountable for its performance.

The other cost worth considering is time. Building a site yourself using any tool takes hours you are not spending on the work that generates revenue. Maintaining it takes more. Optimising it for conversion requires expertise most business owners should not need to develop.

If the goal is a professional enquiry system that works while you are on the tools, on the road or with a client, the question is not whether an AI can build you a page. It is whether a page alone is enough.

For most service businesses, it is not.

Why not just build it myself using a DIY website builder?

DIY website builders can work for very early-stage businesses that need something simple online fast. But they require significant time investment, ongoing technical learning, manual updates and consistent optimisation work that most business owners do not have capacity for.

The real cost of DIY is usually time – and inconsistent follow-up. Most business owners do not have the capacity to maintain a website, manage security, update content regularly and optimise for conversion while running their business at the same time.

Fuscia provides managed website infrastructure so you can focus on the work that generates revenue.

WordPress vs Wix — what is the difference for a small business website?

Wix is a user-friendly DIY builder designed for quick setup. It works for businesses that need something simple online fast.
WordPress is a professional-grade platform designed for scalability, SEO control and long-term flexibility. The differences matter:

Control and flexibility – Wix operates within a closed platform with design and integration limits. WordPress gives full control over structure, integrations and customisation without platform restrictions.

SEO capability – WordPress provides deeper technical SEO control and is the preferred platform for businesses serious about organic search visibility.

Scalability – Wix works at the very early stage. WordPress supports complex builds, automation, advanced integrations and long-term growth without requiring a platform migration later.

Ownership and portability – Wix sites remain within Wix’s ecosystem. WordPress gives your business a foundation that is not dependent on a single platform’s pricing or policy decisions.

Many businesses start on DIY platforms and move once growth demands more flexibility and control. Fuscia builds exclusively on WordPress for exactly these reasons — it is the platform that gives your business room to grow without starting again.

Pay monthly website vs paying upfront - which is better?

Upfront may suit businesses that prefer managing their own hosting and technical maintenance, and have capital available for an initial build investment.

A pay monthly website subscription suits businesses that prefer predictable monthly cost, do not have time to manage technical updates, and want hosting, maintenance, optimisation and performance reporting handled as part of the service.

The right choice depends on your priorities. If you are unsure, book a free enquiry system review and we will give you an honest recommendation.

Growth & Traffic

How do I generate more traffic to my website once it is live?

Fuscia websites are built around a structured system:

Attract. Capture. Convert.

From launch, your site is built to attract organic visibility through strong SEO foundations, capture enquiries with clear calls-to-action and structured forms, and convert demand with fast performance and automated follow-up systems.

For many service businesses, this is enough to begin generating organic visibility and consistent enquiries as the site builds authority over time.

When you are ready to accelerate beyond organic performance, our Growth services – available exclusively to Fuscia clients – are designed to increase traffic volume without increasing your workload. These include Local SEO campaigns, Paid Campaign Management and targeted outreach strategies.

In simple terms: your website brings enquiries in. Growth increases how many.

Growth is entirely optional and available exclusively to existing Fuscia clients when you are ready to expand.
